Exposure

What to do if you have been exposed to someone with coronavirus COVID-19

If you had close contact with someone with COVID-19, you should monitor your health for fever, cough and shortness of breath during the 14 days after the last day you were in close contact with the sick person with COVID-19. You should stay at home during this time – do not go to work and or any public places for 14 days.

If you get sick within 14 days of having close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case, you should notify your healthcare provider’s office that you were exposed to COVID-19 and are now experiencing symptoms.  Your healthcare provider can go over testing options. If you are 65 years old or older, pregnant, or have other medical conditions, let your healthcare provider know as you may be at increased risk of serious infection. Do not go to your healthcare provider’s office without first informing them you had close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case and are now symptomatic, as they need to take steps to keep other people from getting infected or exposed before your arrival. If have COVID-19 symptoms but don’t need to see your doctor press # to get information on testing sites.
